Exploring The Paths of Nursing

By Lilith Beemich Nurse professionals are needed in almost every city in America. As a nurse, you get the opportunity to improve lives, to teach people how to achieve a healthier life style and also ensure patients that they have the best health care available to them. Advancing in your nursing career. There are 4 paths that can help you advance quickly in your nursing career. -(NPs) nurse practitioners average full-time salary $69,000 a year. -(CRNAs) certified registered nurse anesthetists average full-time salary $113,00 a year. -(CNMs) certified nurse-midwives average full-time salary $60,000 - $90,000 a year. -(CNSes) clinical nurse specialists average full-time salary 51,000 a year. All will require further schooling and experience but In the end you will proudly have your masters and state certifications. Salary normally is based on demand and location. NPs find themselves on the frontline conducting physicals, making diagnoses and providing treatment CRNAs work in all settings, from hospitals to private offices. They have to be one of the more educated nurse professionals.CNMs provide prenatal and gynecological care to women, delivering babies and providing postpartum care. CNSes are clinicians specializing in a specific areas of diseases, population or setting. Sub-Fields of Nursing Professionals Telephone-triage nursing. TTN is a subfield for nursing allowing you too support advice and consult patience over the phone. They help determine what type of care may be needed. Breast Implant Augmentation: Capsular Contracture Of The Breast Implant

By Polly Summer Capsular Contracture - What Is It? Capsular Contracture is the most common breast augmentation complication. It is scar tissue from the breast implant surgery forming and hardening around the implant. This causes the implant to tighten as it is squeezed by the scar tissue. It is an unpredictable complication and causes the breasts to harden. Preventing Capsular Contracture Use Textured Implants. Textured implants help to minimise the risk of contracture as their surface deters a hard capsule from forming. Under The Muscle Implants. Placing the implant underneath the muscle reduces the risk. Massage. This should be done only on smooth implants, and by a qualified professional, who will refuse to massage bruised areas. Minimal Touch Surgery. If a foreign substance attaches itself to the implant, this can inflame tissue and cause capsular contracture. This meticulous method puts additional measures in place to minimise the chances of this happening. It involves only one surgeon ever touching the implant, and careful re-washing of surgical gloves and tools during the operation. Vitamin E. Not to be taken two weeks before and after your operation, as it can cause bleeding; but it is said to help fight the risk of capsular contracture. Capsular Contracture Treatment Antibiotics. Some surgeons simply prescribe antibiotics to treat Capsular Contracture. Zafirlukast. This is a relatively new drug usually used to treat asthma, but has been shown to reduce the incidence of early capsules. Capsulectomy. This is removal of the capsule around the breast implant. A partial capsulectomy involves making an incision in the capsule just to release the scar formation. This is more likely to result in the problem returning than removing the entire capsule with the implant. Experiencing Capsular Contracture is very distressing. It is a complication of breast augmentation surgery that you must research before deciding to have the operation. Ask your surgeon about it, and the statistics relating to his own patients. St. Valentine’s Day Massacre (of the Truth): Which Sex Lies the Most to Their Soulmates?

By Conner O’Seanery With Valentine’s Day approaching, the thoughts of millions of women and men turn to their boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands or wives (or combinations thereof). It’s the one day of the year where our relationships come into sharper focus, blocking out the usual distractions of work, personal finances and reality T.V. In an age where deception has reached epidemic proportions, however, Valentine’s Day also presents an opportunity to examine the role lies play in our relationships. And make no mistake … every relationship is touched by deception, whether it’s used to avoid hurting our partner’s feelings, to avoid the negative consequences of our actions, to make ourselves more appealing, to gain personal advantage, or to cover up the piles of b.s. we’ve been shoveling all over town. Deception is the grease that makes the world of relationships spin smoothly. But here’s the $64,000 question: Who does most of the “greasing?” Do men lie more to their mates? Or are women most frequently pulling the wool over the eyes of their partners? Let the Debate Begin Let’s clear one thing up right from the start: Everyone lies. Deception is hard-wired into our DNA. Look at the animal kingdom. You’ll find countless examples of deception in nature, where it’s a survival tactic for living longer and reproducing more often. And while it’s not necessary for humans to lie to reproduce (though in many cases it helps enormously), deception is vital for our social survival and long-term harmony in our relationships. But men and women fib for different reasons. They even have different definitions of what constitutes deception. Heres a wonderful quote from Alexander Haig, former U.S. Secretary of State, that yields brilliant insight into how a guy views a lie: Thats not a lie, its a terminological inexactitude. Of course, Haig was famous for his Haigisms. But his scatological comment on lying throws the gender difference into stark relief: Men tend to view a lie as a simple misstatement of facts. Women tend to view a lie as an intentional untruth that hurts someone. Does anyone else see a problem here? This one key difference opens up a whole whack of interesting dynamics between the sexes (as if there weren’t already enough interesting dynamics between the sexes!): A disturbingly high percentage of men believe not mentioning something — say, a sexual dalliance with the intern after work — doesnt qualify as lying to their significant other. Their rationale? No statement = no misstatement = no lie. Men tend to view the relationship game as bloodthirsty competition — a sort of Blind Date meets Gladiator, set to the Top Gun soundtrack. They self-aggrandize (translation: they lie their faces off) in order to squash their puny rivals and cart home the spoils of war (which, dear ladies, is you). Women lie more readily in social situations because they are more sensitive. Sniff, tissue, please. They reason it’s better to boost a person’s ego with a little white lie than destroy them with the truth. (Wow, talk about a foreign concept.) Women tend to be more dishonest in their private lives, usually to protect their children or their friends. When it comes to fibs, another crucial difference between the sexes relates to their orientation. Of the fibs, that is: Men tell more self-oriented lies, ones designed to gain an advantage for the liar (themselves). Women tell other-oriented lies, ones designed to help someone else (usually the recipient of the lie). But, despite overwhelming anecdotal evidence to the contrary, it’s a 50-50 proposition when it comes to the frequency of fibbing. Most researchers agree: Men and women don’t differ so much on the quantity of their lies, just on the content of their lies. Yeah, right. Who’s going to believe that? Conner O’Seanery is a self-admitted serial liar and an expert on detecting deception in any situation. Online Matchmaking Services: Can They Help Find the Love of Your Life?

By David Kamau Matchmaking can be defined as the process of bringing two people together for the purpose of marriage. The process involves an intermediary or facilitator who acts as the matchmaker. With more and more people content at letting the Internet play cupid, online matchmaking services keep popping up left, right and center. But can they really help you find the person of your dreams? And what’s the difference between matchmaking and dating? Well, dating does not require marriage as the only end goal. Marriage is the end goal and purpose of matchmaking. Often a person may be eager to start a family, without having to go through the hassles of dating and courtship, and the commensurate expenditure of precious time. For such a person, a matchmaking service may just be the answer. Among many other types of matchmaking services available include: 1. Independent matchmakers or “experts” 2. Social networking services 3. Radio station datelines 4. TV matchmaking and dating services 5. Print personal ads and singles publications 6. Speed dating and singles events 7. Online matchmaking services Of all the above and other methods out there, online matchmaking services may be the best way to go. Why? Because of internet access, immediacy and anonymity, twenty four hours a day, as well as tools for interactive communication such as Instant Messaging and video chat, not to mention the huge number of available singles. Plus, online matchmaking services offer the best value in cost. Usually the fee is charged monthly and cancellation is easy. Compare that with per-word newspaper/magazine ads. How do matchmaking sites work? A true matchmaking site will require you to input lots of details about yourself as well as the type of person you are looking for. This in order to find your most suitable prospect(s), beyond mere physical attributes. How do you find the right matchmaking service? Being a billion dollar industry that it is today, you can bet on scam and fly-by-night companies to be galore. Well, the answer is TTT (Tried, Tested and True). Always go with a reputable site that also offers a free trial. Don’t be tempted to go with a completely “free” site. Free usually means pay in other ways (like the site selling your information or bombarding you with advertisements). Can you really meet quality, committed singles online? Many happy couples who have met online say their paths simply would not have crossed had they not met online. And, most are interesting, honest people who are successful in their careers. That they are paying the subscription fee demonstrates their commitment. Though no guarantees are offered, online matchmaking services can be the fastest, most convenient way to get you connected with your soul mate. Rental Trade Show Exhibit - Beating The Budget

By Patty Stripes How can you make a rental trade show exhibit even more appealing than a new one? By getting creative and spicing things up! Let’s discuss a basic mix of elements that will surely get your mind spinning with ideas on how to make your rental trade show exhibit look downright splendid. First of all, forget about the booth. That’s right; remember that there are a lot of other useful elements in the trade show arena you could use to your advantage. For example, think about the space in front of your rental trade show exhibit. You can accommodate your booth or display in such a way that it gets the maximum range of view from that valuable space. Now, back to the rental trade show exhibit. Since you are opting for a used booth, chances are you’re under a tight budget. But that’s no problem for the human imagination to overcome. In fact, maybe having a low trade show display budget can become an advantage in a certain way. It can help you think more, as it can also help you concentrate your attention on making a compelling setup, rather than distracting valuable resources in useless fluff. That said, keeping things simple is unsurprisingly the most sensible way to manage your efforts. Think about few colors and few materials. A pleasant mix of 3-5 colors is more than enough to give birth to an appealing rental trade show exhibit. Same goes with the types of materials you use. Just don’t throw in any piece of junk that looks pretty, it’s so much more powerful to remain consistent with a simple but memorable theme. With this sensible setup you can expect to increment the probability that more of the show’s attendees remember your product or service thanks to your rental trade show exhibit. Child Party Planner - 9 Steps To A Successful Party

By Mike Dougherty Why rush around at the last minute? By following the 9 steps we’ve outlined, your kid party planning experience will be lots of fun, you’ll take the stress out of planning, make things easier on your pocket book and you’ll have a successful party. Give Yourself Plenty Of Time If at all possible, start putting together your child party several months in advance. This will give you plenty of time to put everything together without having to run all over the place at the last minute until you’re worn out, stressed out and find yourself saying “I’ll be glad when this is over with.” Your Party Date And Time Since it may not be practical to hold your child’s birthday party celebration on their actual birth date, you need to consider a few things before deciding on the date of their party. Make sure your party date won’t conflict with any holidays or other events. Also consider the best time of the day for your party. After lunch will mean you won’t have to serve food other than snacks, cake and ice cream. Your Birthday Party Theme One of the most popular ways to celebrate a child’s birthday is with a theme related to something your child enjoys. A movie, a TV show, a sport, hobby, general interest, or a favorite character like a Disney character. If your child likes Barbie, choose a Barbie theme, if your child liked the movie Shrek, you can base an entire birthday on the Shrek theme. This is the perfect time to let your child become involved in planning their party. We encourage you to spend some quality time with your child discussing which theme they are most interested in. But be sure you agree with their choice before proceeding. Your child will only be thinking about which theme will be the most fun, while you need to also consider what may or may not be practical. And once you and your child have decided on a kid birthday party theme, everything else will fall into place… Your Kid Birthday Party Guest List When considering your kid party planning, experts advise you should invite one guest for every year of your child’s age. This keeps your party manageable. Other considerations include your kid birthday party budget and the location of your party. But the question of how many guests you should invite to your birthday party can only be answered by you and your child… I suggest you mainly consider your budget and your party location… If you’re comfortable with a house full of 20 kids for your child’s 8th birthday, then go for it! Your Kid Birthday Party Location You may want to control your child’s birthday party by holding the celebration in your home and/or backyard. Or you may want to consider having your party at another location like a local restaurant (where they do most of the clean-up) or a local park, amusement part, zoo or some other fun location. To keep your child party planning manageable, call any locations your considering in advance… You don’t want to hear “we’re all booked up on that date.” Kid Birthday Party Invitations Once you and your child have decided on a theme, your party date, time, location and guest list, you can create or purchase invitations involving your theme. If you’d like to create your own party invitations, this is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your child… Talk with them about putting together a creative invitation that will tell all their invited guests how much fun their birthday party is going to be. Kid Birthday Party Food And Drinks The first thing that comes to mind when you say “birthday Party” is a birthday cake. For other snacks and treats, keep your kid birthday party theme in mind. Kid Birthday Party Games And Activities Put together some games and activities to keep your party guests busy and having lots of fun. You’ll also want to have some quiet games, puzzles and other activities designed to wind your party down so your guests will go home a little less excited. Thank You Notes A day or so after your kid birthday party, sit down with your child and send out thank you notes to each of your guests. This will help to teach your child responsibility and how to thank their friends for being kind enough to bring them a gift or birthday card. By following the 9 steps I’ve outlined here, your kid party planning experience will be lots of fun, you’ll take the stress out of planning, make things easier on your pocket book and you’ll have a successful party your child will love. Why Getting A Woman’s Email On The Street Is Worthless When It Comes To Attracting Women

By Teddy Shabba Question From A Reader: This weekend I talked to a woman I met on the street who told me that she had a boyfriend. Yet, I was so physically attracted to her that I felt I really would have liked some means to stay in touch with her, so I asked if I could at least get her e-mail address. What can I write given the circumstances that could encourage her to be willing to give me a chance to see her again and to not compose an email that might come across to her as boring? Answer: Did she reject your offer of getting her phone number or did you not even bother to ask? E-mail addresses that you get from women on the street are worthless if that is all you got. She more than likely gave you an email address because it was the only way she knew of to get rid of you. However, let’s pretend for a moment that she did give you her email address so tat the two of you can continue to talk. What can you write to her that will give you a chance to see her again and not come off boring? The simple answer is whatever you told her on the street that caused her to give you her email and isn’t boring. Just start it off with “remember me…” and then fill in the rest with the answer above. She may or may not respond back as that really depends on how much of an “Internet Life” she has. However, in regards to you seeing her again, in general women who want or are planning on seeing you again give you much more than a name and email address when it comes to their contact information. Felt Making: Famous Among The Textile Making Techniques

By Mayoor Patel Wool felt or simply felt is a fabric that is formed when a sheep’s wool or an animal fur has been exposed to heat and moisture. This process is hastened by the presence of an alkaline such as soap. The heat and moisture applied on the wool tends to open the outer scales of the fiber and the soap acts like a lubricant agent causing the fibers to slide easily over one another. This natural entanglement then becomes permanent and irreversible due to the chemical bonding of the keratin proteins present on the fibers forming the fabric. As it is, the process is a fairly simple. This is actually the main advantage of felt making over other textile making techniques; there is a finished product in much lesser time of production. Humans might have discovered the simple process from the effect of the natural elements on the wool or fur of the animals. There are evidences that early humans used wool to keep their feet warm. Years of walking and stomping on the wool had made it stiff, which eventually turned it into wool felt. The oldest archaeological evidences of the use of felt were in Turkey. Wall paintings dated back from 6500 BC depicted what seems to be a felt making process. The Romans and the Greeks of the ancient times knew of the uses of wool felt. In fact, Roman soldiers were found to have worn felt breastplates, tunics, boots and even socks as protection from arrows. The process of felt making did not change much over the years. Varied discoveries during our age, of burial grounds of a nomadic tribal chief in Siberia, a warrior of the Iron Age in Scandinavia, and a body in an old tomb in Norway, all showed marks of wool felt usage as a body wrap. Today, the felt is widely used in various parts of the world, most especially in areas with harsh and very cold climates. Felt is being used by nomads to make tents called ‘gets or yurts’ in Mongolia. The hats, rugs and other similar items are made of felt in Turkey. Similarly, felt tents, rugs and blankets are used by nomadic tribes in South Central Asia. Felt boots are very famous in Russia and Scandinavia. Felt cloaks called kepeneks are used by Shepherds as protection against the rough climate. Competency Based Interviews - 6 Steps to Success!

By Martin Haworth Competency based interviews are intended to get the best from you, the candidate, whilst also fulfilling the needs of the organisation to get the very best person for the job. There are some easy steps to make the most of yourself and have a much better chance of success. Prepare well, but keep it sensible As long as you know the job you are going for, ask for details of what you will be measured against. Ask for a set of competencies. Ask for a job description. This sets you up to succeed, not just because you are better informed, but also because you have asked - which will impress the decision-makers, before you even get there! Get Creative Here is the time to use your own experiences to create ’stories’ which you can use in the actual interview. These ’stories’ are real scenarios that you have been a part of, which over a period of days and weeks beforehand, you write up. Maybe you will have 20+ initial ideas. Leverage! Take the very best scenarios and write them out, bullet points first. Then flesh them out, whilst referring carefully to the competencies you’ve been given. It is amazing how you can ‘tune-in’ your scenario to include many, if not all of the competencies. And if you can’t fit them all in, there will be a use for them - later! Practice By reading through your scenarios (and by now you should not have more than six or seven) you will familiarise yourself with the contents, so well, that they will become second nature - even in the scary experience of an interview. In the Interview There are some tactics in here too! Using your scenarios make just three key points about what you’ve been asked. Make them relevant and the right ‘weight’. Not too long or too short. After that, leave space for them to ask more - that’s what they are listening for.Say ‘I’ a lot - they want to know what your personal involvement and experience was, not ‘the team’ or ‘they’.Have fun - whilst not contrived, smile and make some simple jokes, if you feel comfortable with that - they want to employ happy as well as capable people. Can’t answer? That’s fine. Make sure that you reflect on your shortcomings by saying things like, ‘It’s one of the first things I want to develop in my next job - if you did your stuff on your scenarios and your competencies well enough, you will have covered 90% of the bases well and you’ll be forgiven for not being ‘perfect’. If you are really stumped - say so!Ask questions - relevant, about their culture, focus on developing you, opportunities - the positive ‘peopley’ things (remember it’s your chance to see if you want to work with them!).Also ask about current issues they may be facing - you did do your homework on them, didn’t you? Strong Ending! Keep the whole thing light, even as you leave at the end. Have a conversation in general terms - about anything! Do make sure that you ask them some things that are about them - they will love it if you ask them some open (what, how, when, where, who) general questions about your new job! About something nice in the building or their clothes - take as it comes and do what feels comfortable! Remember that competencies are there to help you and they provide a guide-map for your competency based interview success! 2005 Martin Haworth is a Business and Management Coach. NSF - NFD Prevention

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Debby_D'silva] Debby D’silva NSF/NFD is a very rare but very serious, and sometimes fatal, condition. It has been closely associated with the use of gadolinium-based contrast agents used in MRIs and MRAs, and so far has only occurred in people with renal insufficiency. Because there is no cure for NSF/NFD, and the condition is very resistant to treatment, there is currently a very heavy emphasis on prevention. Patients with moderate to severe renal insufficiency are at the highest risk for developing NSF/NFD. Anyone with renal insufficiency should avoid gadolinium exposure if possible, but for some people, tests using the contrast agent are necessary. In any event, patients with any level of renal insufficiency should be informed of the risks involved, and have the opportunity to decide for themselves, while taking into consideration the advice of their doctors, whether the benefits outweigh the risks. Dose The experts in NSF strongly recommend that when tests using contrast agents are absolutely necessary for people with renal insufficiency, the lowest effective dose should be used, especially in those with advanced kidney disease. Dialysis Gadolinium is primarily removed from the body by the kidneys. Therefore, people whose kidneys are not functioning properly do not eliminate the gadolinium as quickly and effectively as patients with normal functioning kidneys. Patients with normal functioning kidneys eliminate one-half of the injected gadolinium in 90 minutes while those with moderate to severe renal insufficiency, the half life of gadolinium is extended to up to 30 hours or more. This allows the gadolinium to undergo a chemical change and become distributed throughout the organs of the body The gadolinium is allowed to remain in their systems long enough to get into the skin and cause NSF/NFD. Hemodialysis immediately after testing may eliminate some of the gadolinium. Typically, two or three, or more, sessions are needed to remove the toxin, but by doing so quickly after testing, gadolinium may not have the chance to spread throughout the body. Hemodialysis may not be safe for everyone. Many doctors believe that patients who are not already in dialysis should not use the procedure just for gadolinium removal, because initiating dialysis can mean a permanent dependence on the procedure. Each person must be individually evaluated, and the benefits and risks of dialysis must be carefully weighed. Different gadolinium contrast agents All gadolinium-based contrast agents are considered to carry a possible risk of causing NSF/NFD, but some are more dangerous than others. So far, of the five gadolinium-based contrast agents approved by the FDA, only three have been linked to NSF/NFD. Most cases have occurred after the use of Omniscan, and some after using Magnevist and OptiMARK. Some experts worry that low-risk patients will be overly cautious and go without the tests that they need. Each case has to be considered individually based on risk factors and the level of need for tests using the contrast agent. If you believe you have developed NSF, we strongly advise you to contact your physician for an examination which may involve a skin biopsy. If you are, in fact, diagnosed with NSF, you should consult with an attorney experienced in handling NSF and other pharmaceutical injury cases Article Source: [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Debby_D'silva ] http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Debby_D’silva [http://ezinearticles.com/?NSF---NFD-Prevention&id=578275 ] http://EzineArticles.com/?NSF—NFD-Prevention&id=578275 buy anax valium anax generic pharmacysthat sell valium world wide buy diazepam without prescription from the uk buy diazepam without prescription from the uk
